I am trying to run a website that needs the frontpage server extensions for full functionality (it was built using frontpage 2000 under Windows 2003). Hello, and welcome to the forum. I used FrontPage 2000 in the past but I never worked with frames when using FrontPage. The general thinking of ComputerHope forum members who are familiar with web design is not favorable toward use of FrontPage; they lean toward other web creation software or, indeed, toward raw coding with a simple text editor such as Notepad. Looking at the source, it seems to have been made with 'Frontpage 5.0' but also has a 'Microsoft Office' XML namespace. What I find interesting is that it apparently checks the browser and if it is not IE, it simply outputs a website made up of large, bad looking.gifs on which, not surprisingly, the links don't work.

In the past she's been in the habit of opening up the page she wants to edit with Internet Explorer (6.0) and clicking on File, and then Edit with Microsoft FrontPage.
Lately the Edit with Microsoft FrontPage has been greyed out (doesn't work). It's greyed out even when she looks at other web sites. When I look at one of her web pages, the option is available to me (ditto when I look at just about any other web page).
She can still open her web site/page directly with FrontPage and edit/publish her web pages and web site. But she would rather use IE's Edit with Microsoft FrontPage option.
I've searched the web and haven't found much. I found a reference to changing the expiration time in IIS 5.0 on our end and tried that, but it didn't work. I had her put the 'Edit' button on her IE toolbar, but that's disabled to. FrontPage is set as her default HTML editor in IE.
I would appreciate any help anyone has.
Oh yeah, her OS is Win2k.
